New Top Up Tap for Portree

Energy advice for homes and small businesses in Lochalsh and Skye
Donnie Mackay of the Lochalsh and Skye Housing Association gave a zoom talk to the Skye Climate Action network about the 12 years of the Housing Association’s ‘Energycaring’ service. Donnie explained why fuel poverty is rampant in Lochalsh and Skye, resulting from interacting factors such as lack of mains gas, high energy costs (compared to central belt), suboptimal supply chains, poorly insulated housing stock and high levels of related ill health.
