At the end of 2020, the Scottish Government published its draft updated Climate Change plan. Parliamentary Committees are now scrutinising the draft plan and soon the Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform will decide what should be in the final document.
There are only nine years left to meet Scotland’s 2030 target to reduce emissions by 75%. The Climate Change plan is the roadmap for how to get there so it is crucial that the Climate Change plan delivers the transformative changes needed to cut emissions across all areas of life in Scotland and also ensure climate justice at home and abroad.
Stop Climate Chaos Scotland has analysed what is good and what is lacking in the plan, and has produced a video on what’s in the plan and why it’s important.
