Portree allotments need your help

take action

Even before the pandemic there was demand for allotments in Portree. Portree & Braes Community Trust have now secured a plot of land which could provide 20-30 allotment – the first such community growing space in Portree. Although some of the legal work to secure the land was done for free, the complexities of the transfer of ownership mean there is still a legal bill outstanding which needs to be paid before the allotment site can be got ready for growing.

Having drawn a blank with donor funding, the Community Trust is asking for your help to get this vital project off the ground. If 300 members of the community were to donate £20 each, there would be enough to cover the outstanding amount. A strong show of community support for this project could encourage other donors to come forward. If the appeal raises more than the target, the extra funds will go towards improving drainage, paths and fencing.
