Highland Adapts, a partnership of nine agencies in Highland Region, has published the first report on Economic Assessment of Climate Change Impacts on the Highland Region. Climate-related flooding, wildfires, risks to the energy sector, salmon production and forestry and timber are estimated to result in negative impacts equivalent to -1.5% Gross Domestic Product a year by the 2050s, rising to up to -3.3% a year by the 2080s.
