National Emergency Briefing Update

by Anne MacLennan

Earlier this year, Chris Packham launched a petition which calls for “a live emergency briefing to the nation on the climate and nature crisis, introduced by the Prime Minister and delivered by independent experts.” Now that there are over 100,000 signatures, Parliament has to debate whether to agree to the request or not. The debate will be on 16 November at 4.30pm. It is important that as many MPs as possible support the call, so please consider asking our MP Angus MacDonald to do so. Instructions are here, click on the red ‘Thank your MP’ tab.

For anyone who would like to organise a community screening, there are regular Zoom sessions which include the film itself, to share tips, answer questions and offer support. The NEB team has produced resources to support screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing and follow-up discussions in particular situations such as work places and churches. These are available on the website directly or on request.
