àraich: something good is growing here

John Coghill (who created fabulous food for the Feel Heal Real Food sustainable food day in April) and his team have launched àraich, at the Old Woolen Mill in Portree (next to Howdens).

àraich is a community kitchen, café, whole foods shop and events space. Seasonal, healthy and delicious food, sourced as much as possible locally, is served at communal tables.

“àraich is for everyone, because we believe there’s a spark in all of us, and it glows brighter when it’s fed and nurtured”.

àraich’s First Supper was on Friday 25th September with over 70 people enjoying a feast of stew, curry and lots of yummy toppings, like pickled Skye chanterelles, miso mackerel, and home-made àraich cottage cheese.

àraich is a CIC and is planning for more directors on their board. If you think you could help or you know of someone who would be good for the board, please speak to John or email us at hello@araich.co.uk.

To understand more of the values and aspirations of àraich have a look at the presentation that John gave at the First Supper.

Visit araich.co.uk for opening hours and to stay in the loop.
