Skye Beach Cleans has produced a Debris Identification Guide to help you identify and categorise some of the more common litter items originating from marine industries. Once you have reported the debris on Skye Beach Clean’s map, they’ll do all the legwork for you, such as forwarding your report to one of the relevant Organisations or Agencies for further action. Skye Beach Cleans will track the progress of debris removal and take follow up action if items are not removed.
The Scottish islands Federation has also launched its Littoral Lotto, a survey form developed in collaboration with the Marine Conservation Society, to help get better data on fishing and aquaculutre debris on our beaches.
