SUPERDRUG take beauty and toiletry empties for recycling, including tubes, wands, palettes, caps, pumps and sprays. All brands are accepted. See the full list here. They also take medication blister packs (any brand). You can also drop them off at St Columba’s Church in Portree who are making trips to Inverness.
BOOTS takes mascara, lipstick, makeup palettes, pumps, empty toothpaste tubes, travel miniatures etc, from any brand or source. They go to a UK-based recycler to be transformed into construction board. Boots guarantees nothing goes to landfill and nothing is incinerated.
SPECSAVERS collects contact lenses and lens packaging in every store and recycles them in the UK with a company that turns them into construction materials. They also take spectacles for recycling.
BOOTS and SUPERDRUG take insulin pens through the PenCycle scheme.
