Film Screening- Foragers by Jumana Manna, plus talk, food and seed swap

Join Atlas Arts at Skye Bridge studios for a screening of Foragers by Jumana Manna. There will be snacks and refreshments before the film and a special guest, sharing a bit about local plant culture. Bring along seeds and plants you might want to talk about or learn more about as a group, and there’ll also be a seed swap set up in the space.

In 2021 Atlas screened a previous work of Jumana’s called Wild Relatives, which looks at the journey of seeds to the Svalbard Seed vault in Norway, and the colonial politics of seeds collection and preservation. This new film follows on from these themes, to look at the ways in which the occupation of land puts the ancestral knowledge of plants under threat.
