In November 2020 we held a regional meeting on ‘Sharing the passion for Climate Action across the area’
that was attended by 33 people.
The evening began with an overview by Trish Robertson, chair of Highland Council’s Climate Change Working Group, followed by presentations by Anne Thomas of Transition Black Isle and Anna Patfield from Planet Sutherland.
You can see their presentations here. The times of the presentations are:
Trish Robertson (Highland Council) 0-11.50, Anne Thomas (TBI) 13.25-30.37 and Anna Patfield, (PlanetSutherland) 32.07- end
Our other guests were also invited to share their perspectives. They included
- Camille Dressler (European Small Isles Foundation and resident of Eigg)
- Tamsin McCarthy (Eigg Environmental Action Group)
- Denis Rixon (Liberal Democrat Councillor Caol & Mallaig, Director of Isle of Rum Community Trust and a member of the Council’s Climate Change Working Group)
- Grant Holroyd and Lorna Schofeld from Knoydart Forest Trust
A lot of information was shared. Participants commented that it was inspiring to hear what is being done across our region through community action and that more such regional events are a good idea.
