The campaign to make farming work for nature, climate and people
March 13 @ 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm
Join Farm for Scotland’s Future’s webinar to learn more about why farming has such a key role to play in reducing climate emissions and restoring Scotland’s nature, and why we need a new funding system to help all farmers and crofters make the transition to sustainable farming.
Speakers:
- Ruth Taylor, agriculture and land use policy manager at WWF Scotland, will describe how our decades-old farm funding system is failing to meet the huge challenges we face, and how we can change it.
- Farmer Nikki Yoxall will introduce us to ‘The Wee Mob’, her mobile herd of cattle, and the power of regenerative grazing – one of many nature-friendly farming practices that a new system could support.
- Crofter Helen O’Keefe will outline the role that crofting can play in maintaining and restoring biodiversity, and in building prosperous and resilient local communities – and the support crofters need to do this vital work.
