Storytelling event with Seoras Macpherson, Skye

Join us for an online storytelling session and conversation with Glendale-based story teller Seoras Macpherson and filmmaker Andrew Black, as we explore stories of land and community in Skye and the Highlands. This event is part of the Plural Futures Film commission, a collaboration between Atlas Arts and Skye Climate Action.
Seoras has devoted his life to telling the stories of his native place, and has an invaluable knowledge of Skye history and mythology that is unfortunately fading from collective memory.
We are interested in hearing stories and recollections from across the island, to explore the connections between crofting, land struggle, changes in Gaelic culture, economic pressures, colonial wealth and activism on Skye. Through these conversations, and with an awareness of the current moment of upheaval, we hope to use the film project to begin to imagine different ways of honouring the past and living well together in the future.
If you think you have something to share, we’d be excited to hear from you, but would also welcome you to join and listen. This event will take place online via Zoom. Please sign up via eventbrite.
