ReRoot film screenings – Rooted: Growing a Local Food Ecosystem & Paddock to Plate: A tale of disconnect.
These films are shown at the Skye Bridge Studios in Kyle with snacks from SELF Health available on arrival (doors open from 5.30pm). Screening starts about 6.15pm and following the film(s) there is an opportunity to talk about them and to consider the relevance to our individual and community situations.
October’s film is Rooted: Growing a Local Food Ecosystem and is set in Dumfries and Galloway. The film aims to answer the question, ‘How can we work together to create a fair, healthy and sustainable food system?’ – a similar quest to ReRoot. Themes running through the film are: Environment, Money and Fairness in the Food System, Community, Soil, and Regenerative + Organic Farming.
Rooted is 50 minutes long, so there’s time for another 30 minute video, Paddock to Plate: A tale of disconnect. This comes from an Australian physician linking lifestyle, diet and health. As he quotes, ‘Let food be thy medicine.’
Book here for the 11th October screenings.
