Earth Day Parade, Inverness

On Earth Day, people will gather in Inverness to express concerns about the latest IPCC report (March 2023) which boils down to one message – act now, or it will be too late.
Earth Day is an annual event that celebrates and promotes environmental awareness and the need to protect our natural resources for future generations, and it seems a perfect way of highlighting this in Inverness.
The event will be fun, friendly and creative, and a chance to meet-like minded people and forge alliances.
Details are being finalised but likely to include a multi-group march and rally celebrating Earth Day, possibly gathering at 1pm at Inverness Townhouse, High Street/Castle Street and slowly marching to Falcon Square. At Falcon Square we will have a rally with speeches on local/global biodiversity issues. Then with a fun but poignant finish to the rally with a flash mob style dance to ‘Staying Alive’ – no experience necessary, just a good sense of humour! (see XR video on Youtube )
