Croft Horticulture Online Workshop Series

The Scottish Crofters Federation is running a series of seasonal croft horticulture online workshops, with Isle of Lewis crofter and market gardener, John Hamilton, giving practical advice on planning, planting, soil, compost, harvesting, selling, growing all year round, and scaling up production.
The first course is on Monday 12 May, 7 pm – 9 pm, by zoom, covering
Equipment and tools;
Soil preparation;
Transplanting and direct sowing;
Planting spacings.
The next courses are
Harvesting and preparing for selling, 15th July 2025
Preserving and growing over winter, 26th August 2025
Planning for a market garden, 14th October 2025
Preparing for the season, 17th February 2026
Cost per woprkshop: £20 for members; £35 for non-members. Sign up for five workshops and only pay for four.
