The Go-Hi Challenge rewards people in the Highlands and Islands for choosing to walk, wheel, cycle or take public transport instead of using their car. It works through the BetterPoints app (free to download) which automatically awards points for journeys taken by active and sustainable modes of travel. These points can be exchanged for supermarket, high street and Scotland Loves Local vouchers, or can be donated to charity. Anyone who joins the app will also be entered into prize draws – currently there is the chance to win a £100 voucher for a weekend away, and ten Portree residents will win Scotland Loves Local gift cards valued between £10 and £50.
