DESCRIPTION:South Skye Nature Festival 2026\nTickets are going fast\, but there are still plenty of fantastic events available. Almost all are free. Visit sleatnaturegroup.org/ssnf to reserve places. \nThe festival will launch on Friday 24th July from 7-9 pm at An Crùbh. Drop in to mingle and chat with event leaders\, with music by Skirlin’ and drinks available at the bar. \nDeep-dive talks with our expert speakers – 25 years of Skye Birds\, the mysterious corncrake of north Skye\, sea trout navigation\, why amphibians and reptiles are the grower’s friends\, the sounds of nature and big-picture explorations of species reintroductions\, marine protected areas and why biodiversity matters. \nPractical workshops on bird identification and surveys\, coastal and woodland foraging\, cetacean identification – and you can even make your own mat from beach rope! \nGuided walks include fabulous ferns at the Plock\, gaelic in the Scottish rainforest at Leitir Fura\, the amazing landscapes of Knock and Ord and how they shape nature\, how volunteers are restoring woodlands and peat at Tormore and Broadford\, and nature-focussed kayaking sessions around our shores. \nOn Saturday 25th evening “Ocean with David Attenborough” will screen at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig\, with a Q&A session. \nThe festival hub will be at An Crùbh community centre and café\, with last minute tickets – if available – and stalls and displays from: British Divers Marine Life Rescue\, Fishing For Litter\, Amphibian & Reptile Conservation\, Bumblebee Conservation Trust\, Trees For Life\, Skye & Lochalsh Rivers Trust\, Whale & Dolphin Conservation Trust\, RSPB\, British Trust for Ornithology\, Blue Marine Foundation\, CLIMAVORE\, Forestry & Land Scotland … and more. \nSee each day’s programme below.
